Give your kids a fun learning experience with this simple experiment.

- Blotting paper
- Some colored markers
- Ink
- A dish with some water
Procedure:
1. Cut the blotting paper in a circular shape

2. Use different coloured markers to make a small circle/spot in the middle of the blotting paper. All the colours together will appear as a black spot/circle on the blotting paper.
3. Set the blotting paper in water just for a few seconds and remove it. The colours in the spot made in the middle will start spreading across the blotting paper as soon as it touches water. The spreading colours will appear something like this:
4. Hang the blotting paper to dry. As the paper dries the colors would have separated into distinct circles/rings on the paper as can be seen in the photograph below.
